Studies on antimicrobial activity of Lawsonia inermis L. against different strains of bacteria and fungi

Natural plant products are a significant source of synthetic and traditional medicines. The majority the world population, especially in developing countries, is dependent on herbal formulations for their primary health care needs. Lawsonia inermis popular medicinal possess many pharmacological properties. present study was carried out to estimate antimicrobial activity L leaves mother plant, regenerated plants callus extract justify pharmaceutical aspect provide as phytochemistry Ayurveda well ethnobotanical plant.The determined with help agar diffusion method by using some Gram-positive;Bacillu subtilius MTCC441, Bacillus cereus MTCC430, Staphylococcus aureus MTCC96,Gram-negative; Escherichia coli MTCC1885,Pseudomonas aeruginosa MTCC424 fungal strains Candida albicans MTCC227.Leaves were tested against these microorganisms different types solvent Methanolic, Ethanolic, Aqueous, Acetone, Hexane, Chloroform Diethyl ether investigated method. Different extraction procedures done soxhlet apparatus.Dilutions made it noticed that zones inhibitions increased ith concentration extracts. Methanolic found best L. comparison other extracts.The maximum zone inhibition 13.79±1.7mm methanolic extracts B. subtilis minimum 09.40±1.7 mm cereus.The value more case compared extracts.This showed inhibit growth dose-dependently.The support use therapy bacterial infection.
